Lunch around Tuftonboro, NH?

  • 9

I will be in Tuftonboro next week to pick up a camper. Never been to that area. Any suggestions for a lunch spot relatively nearby? Thanks

  1. lots of great places in Meredith, Center Harbor if you are going that way to Tuftonboro, also Wolfboro if you are coming that way. Which way are you coming through?

great view and food at Church Landing in Meredith
Awesome lobster roll in the next town, Center Harbor just across from the lake and Sam&Rosies
Great Asian at Lemon Grass in Center Harbor too but not sure if they open for lunch.
Cheap casual but always good is Village Kitchen in Moultonboro (diner type)

have fun, it's a great area!

If it's a awesome day, I would go for the great view at Church Landing or grab your lobster roll at Sam&Rosie's and go across the street and eat at the beach at a picnic table.

Turns out we will be staying overnight in Wolfeboro. Any suggestions in that area? Thanks.

not first hand but hearing good things about The Restaurant and Mise en Place! I love East of Suez, it's byob, been there forever and only open for a few months in the summer. Owner had traveled all over the world as a writer I believe( passed away within the past few ;years) but I believe his wife (from phillipines) still owns it and runs it. Food is always creative and awesome.

We've been to both The Restaurant and Mise en Place on numerous occasions. Both are excellent. The Restaurant is the better choice for larger groups & more casual dining. Mise en Place is still the best special occasion/fine dining experience in Wolfeboro, IMO. We absolutely LOVE East of Suez and wish they would stay open year-round, but it's not for everyone. It's not a huge menu, and I imagine it would be slim pickins for anyone who isn't fond of Asian food. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, kind of like eating dinner on your grandma's funky old screened porch. Yes, it's BYOB, which is awesome; but it's important to note that they do NOT take credit cards, so... hit the ATM before you go. The daughter of the restaurant founder is now the owner. She & her staff are doing a terrific job. We actually like it better under her management.

awesome! Great to know this, I've always love East of Suez back when the original owner. Frst time I went there was maybe 28 years ago....lots of great memories, I will definitely have to get back this year.

      2. Oh, please! Check out Buckey's - it's actually near Tuftonboro. Popular with the locals and us flatlanders too. Good food and ambiance.
