2 Foodies Getting Married in KC - Caterer Recommendations?

My fiance and I are passionate about food & cooking and are planning our wedding in KC. We love places like Bluestem, Room 39, PotPie, Justus Drugstore, and we also appreciate more casual fare found at places like Blanc Burgers (or a place where we get street tacos that I can never remember the name). We don't have a lot of experience with local caterers, and would welcome any recommendations. We are focusing our wedding dollars on the food (not flowers, the dress, a band, etc.), so we really want to avoid the typical wedding fare you find at most weddings. It will be a fairly casual wedding, so we don't want anything fussy or fancy, just excellent ingredients prepared creatively and exceptionally well. Thank you!

Feasts of Fancy - superb service and good food. I've used them for large receptions. The food at Cafe Sebastianne is excellent, yes. Webster House is supposed to have GREAT food, but I don't know if they do off-site catering (where is your wedding?).

There is a place called Moxie Catering, located near the screenland theater in the Crossroads, as well as The Filling Station. There's also Good Eats Catering, located in Brookside.

I've been to feasts of fancy- catered events and they were wonderful. Super nice people and delicious food, it did not seem at all fussy.

Contact food giant, Treat America, and one of their many divisions/outlets/caterers will be able to provide what you want.

Treat America!!! HA HA HA, you would be better off having Hy-vee cater it, think she is looking for someplace with out of this world food, then a company known for their vending machines and school food services business.

Personally, I am not a fan of Treat America. However, Treat America is the EBT Restaurant at I-435 and Wornall. They also have a number of other outlets that is much above the vending machine and school food services that they do provide. I honestly believe that it is worth contacting them to see if they could provide what is wanted.

My good friend recently had her reception at the Kemper Museum of Art, where the food is done by Cafe Sebastienne. It was the best wedding spread I've ever had. I wasn't terribly impressed by the service of the event planner (she didn't communicate very well) but everything turned out beautifully despite that. Not sure if they do food for other locations.
