What is the best tasting menu in Montreal?

Hi All,

Celebrating an anniversary. Where is the best place?

I've been to La Montee, Bronte already.

Thanks!

    1. La Chronique, Europea, Toqué! ... maybe Raza (?), DNA has a "chef" table (maybe a review http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/678780

      )

There are probably other places in town that do a "tasting" menu...

      1. Hello Hounds!
        Any recent updates?!
Looking for a place to accommodate a group of about 15 foodies. Great food and service a must, price is not an issue. Preferably with a private dining room! Any of them open for lunch?
Europea, Anise, 400 Coup, Toque, Laurie Raphael....??!!
        Many thanks!

          Anise is no more.

I'd do the Quebec City Laurie Raphael (original location), but not the one in Montreal.

Don't think Les 400 coups has a private room; but it is a very good restaurant (very "montreal").

Europea and Toqué would be something to look at; you'd need to check with them about the private room.

Are you really looking for a "tasting menu" or a great food experience ?

I was at Hotel Herman yesterday, and I think it is one of the best restaurant in Montreal these days; I'd get in touch with them to setup a "tasting menu" or a fixed menu of some sort and be happy, with excellent wines at reasonable cost.

          Max.

Européa fits both. They have a private room on the second floor that can accommodate around 20-25 people and they are opened for lunch. They offer a 60 $ lunch tasting menu or a 110 $ evening menu.

I agree with @LordWilmore. It looks like Europea would be the best fit, as they do tasting menus (a few options) and they do have a nice private room. On top of that, the service there is irreproachable.
