$1 Oysters Legal Seafood Outdoors at the Charles Hotel Cambridge

I'm not a huge Legal fan.

But $1 oysters, outdoors, in Harvard Square before 6:00pm does not suck. Heck, get there at 5:50 and order 3 dozen... They shucked them fresh upon order.

Does anyone know if the Legal Harborside location has Dollar Oysters before 6:00?

Just had a dozen east coast oysters at Les Zygomates (South Station) tonight and they were superb. 6 different varieties if you're into bivalve terroir. $1/each from 4-6pm Mon-Fri.

Normally Legals does it only at the bar/lounge area. Braintree also has a little slider menu too at that time.

The quality of Legal's will vary depending which location one is at. The Braintree location is terrible as well as Park Square. I have always like the kendall square location along with Havard Square. The new legal harborside is nice, and tough to beat this time of year.

The Palm has $1 oysters from 5 - 7 (plus some other pretty good happy hour food specials for $3.50).

I thought the oysters were outstanding there (no choices of varietals).

Lord Hobo started doing $1 oysters and $5 apps 5-7pm as well. Not sure how well they would sit in my stomach after drinking a few 9%+ beers though.

Lord Hobo and these other places w/ $1 oyster deals-do they have the brains to serve them on ice? thanks much. (Yes, i actually have been places where they lack those particular brains. unbelievable.)

Do you have to go into the restaurant (or, at least, the bar area) to get them, or is there a special (preferably outdoor) oyster seating area? If the $1 oysters are simply a way of luring you in, it'll be hard to leave without spending $50+ pp (as opposed to the outdoor seating at Legal, where you can simply suck in two dozen or so oysters and leave without being tempted by anything else on offer).

It's an ongoing chainwide special but your waiter/waitress do not always know so make sure to ask them to ask the manager first. It's only Mon-Thu between 3pm-6pm.
