Lunch on the Westside with great drinks and outdoor seating?

libraryleslie Aug 2, 2010 01:16 PM

It is my birthday and my boss is taking me out for late lunch. We will be a small group...probably 4 people. Also, this will be on a weekday.

We work in Century City- so somewhere within a 15 minute drive would be ideal. I'm looking for a place with a nice outdoor seating area. Also, good drinks are a must! A place with a bar- not just beer and wine is necessary. Finally, the place must be vegetarian/pescatarian friendly.

I don't spend much time of the westside- so I'm stumped! Hopefully I can get some great suggestions here!

plenty of fish at the new Capital Grille, with a great looking upstairs balcony.
It's in the Beverly Center in the old Hard Rock space.

Quite a few good fish choices and there should be enough from the starters to manage a nice "vegetarian" only meal. Really nice setting.

Fraiche and Ford's Filling Station in DT Culver City might work. I've had more drinks at the latter (always well done), and the menu is eclectic enough so that everyone should find a couple things they like. There was a really popular Italian place on North Canon in BH (Il Pastaio?) that I never tried when living nearby a couple years ago, but it was always packed and has a decent (if a cramped) patio. People recommend Pane y Vino for their patio, and while it's a nice patio, the food is pretty ho-hum. Maybe Dominick's on Beverly near the Beverly Center? You sit out back (as opposed to the street in the above places) Great bar there. There are some nice places in Venice too, but that's probably outside your range (then there's the drive back east - ugh!). Oh yeah - happy birthday!

Very close to CC is Il Moro:

              Il Moro Restaurant
11400 Olympic Blvd. Los Angeles, CA

It is Italian and I love the outdoor patio with the stream and all the plants. They have a lot of non meat items on the menu.
