Lunch along Rte 101 or 95 in NH - Exeter to Portsmouth
We'll be driving from Manchester to Portland and would like to stop for lunch somewhere along the way,, about 1/2 through the dirve. We're looking for a quick bite, not more than 5 minutes from the highway, but not chain, fast-food -- good pizza, grinders, soup. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for a good Italian sub, check out Valeria's in Stratham (three minutes north of exit 11 off 101). I think she and her husband are both Italian-American. Husband is from NJ and they lived there for a long time. I may be biased as it's where I'm from, but I think the NJ style subs are the best. She uses really good meats and pretty good bread.

Thanks, Chris. This looks great (Loaf & Ladle does too). Husband grew up in NJ so anything that is NJ-style Italian American is likely to fit his tastes. Do they do NY-NJ style pizza? If so, I know we will be there as we live in Chi, and sorely miss eastern style pizza. (By the way, it's actually Valerio's, with an "o." I just googled.)
