Have to spend the weekend in Mankato and am seeking out family friendly restaurants that aren't a strip mall chain. Purusing the restaurant listings, I'm seeing various pizza joints, fast food, sandwich joints, Panera, Applebees, Perkins, Old Country Buffet, Chipotle, Famous Daves and Noodles & Company.

Any suggestions for independently owned restaurants in the Mankato area that would be a moderately priced family friendly dinner?
