SF Great Dining at the Bar?
I'm headed to SF on a short business trip solo, and my time will be a little unpredictable. Where can I get a really great meal without a reservation, perhaps sitting at the bar? Doesn't have to be fancy, just really terrific. Other suggestions for this kind of dining - without having to wait too long, and without a reservation also appreciated. Staying near Union Square (of course), but willing to hop a cab.

If you want something a bit more adventurous, try Anchor and Hope, which is a short walk from where you'll be staying

I would check out Tadich Grill. It's not only an SF favorite (with both locals and visitors), but it has a very large, lively bar that is the perfect place for single diners to eat! If you're a fan, I recommend either the ciopinno or the hangtown fry. Top either one off with an extra-spicy bloody mary! You can walk from Union Square (about 15 mins give or take), or catch the cable car!
