I will be visiting some friends in Chestertown, MD in a few weeks, and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for dining and drinks--preferably sushi, but anything you feel is worth looking at will do. I know it's a vague request, so throw out whatever ideas you have:)

Consider The Blue Heron Cafe. My husband and I had a lovely dinner there once. Our friends who live in Chestertown dine there regularly. I would love to go back sometime. I think Chestertown is beautiful.

I woud also reccomend Brook's Tavern ( located in an old mill) and the Imperial Hotel which has an interesting retro drinks menu.

If you like crab cakes, the Blue Heron is a good choice. I'd rate most of their dishes as pretty good, but not excellent, although they have a very affordable wine list and a solid bar. Their desserts are especially delicious-- I love the homemade pies and cakes. It's a pretty quiet place, so if you're looking for a place in which you can really talk, it could be a good choice.

We'll be going in a few weeks, and I am looking forward to trying Brix. It's a tapas place and everytime I walk past, everyone seems to be thoroughly enjoying their food. Brix also has a lot of outdoor seating, so if the weather is nice, it would be a lovely place to go.

As for sushi, I don't think I've ever seen a sushi restaurant in town.

Imperial Hotel does a sushi night but I wouldn't have a clue if it was good or not.
