Looking for brown rice and fresh veggies

I have a friend who's on a strict diet of brown rice and fresh vegetables. I'm looking for restaurants that offer that on the menu. The areas that would help are W. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West L.A., Los Feliz and Hollywood.

The Panda Inn chain has that and so does P.F. Chang's, I think. It's amazing how many Asian restaurants these days do NOT offer brown rice.

What we'd really like to find are restaurants that are not Chinese. Does anyone know of any?

Had brown rice and vegetables from Green Leaves on Hillhurst today. Very respectable, if not thrilling.

I've never had their brown rice, but a perfect fit would be:

Fresh Corn Grill - WLA/Westwood ~ Either their "Fresh Corn Vegetable Bowl" or any combo from their Side Dishes:

Besides the salad, so they do use fresh vegetables for their curries?

I don't believe Shojin offers curry dishes ...

I checked their online menu and it isn't there, but they did have it when I visited a few times so it could have been daily specials. I was wondering if it was fresh because like Curry House and other places use those packets.

                  Hi apple7blue,

Yes, Shojin has a "Grilled Vegetable Curry" entree, and they make their own Curry (Vegan). Currently, I think they've rotated it out for the new Summer menu that just started (it should be back in by Fall). Or if the original poster wants it, they might call ahead and ask if they can make it? :)

Samosa House does. You have to see which items in their buffet are prepared from fresh vegetables though and also time it for when it is freshly cooked. It's Indian food. Shojin makes curries with a Japanese heritage, but I don't know if they use fresh vegetables. I assume they would in keeping with the spirit of their restaurant. They serve brown rice with their entrees. Another place is Real Food Daily, which was mentioned already.

if you are willing to limit the vegetables to skewer-roasted peppers, onions, and tomatos,

the persian restaurant, shamshiri grill, makes terrific brown rice and they serve skewered, roasted, vegetables.

Shamshiri Grill is excellent and offers much more for the OP than you suggest:

the only reason i limited my suggestion is that the op states that the person is
"on a strict diet of brown rice and fresh vegetables"

personally, i've worked my way through almost all of shamshiri's fantastic selection of vegetarian food.
also, since i started bringing their brown rice version of addas polo every time i'm invited to a pot luck, i find myself being invited to pot luck dinners all the time. . . .

Ammo on Highland just north of Santa Monica Blvd. has great brown rice with veggies. It's my go-to righteous lunch.
