Casual fine dining....
I've been searching and searching for a restaurant for our anniversary tomorrow in the $$$ range. Everything that I'm finding is dressy. It's supposed to be stormy in the afternoon tomorrow so I'd like to be able to be more casually dressed. My husband will be in khaki's and a collared shirt. We are very basic eaters. American, Italian, etc.... My husband's into steak and I enjoy pasta and some seafood. Any obvious choices come to mind? I don't want to bill to be over $200 including tax, tip and wine. We are going to a show first so don't want to go totally overboard! I originally posted trying to take advantage of Restaurant Week and some of those choices didn't pan out. Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas. I'll have to check availability. I also started checking out rooftop bar options for something totally different. Anyone eaten dinner at the Print restauant in Ink48? Think it would be fun to check out the Press rooftopbar but only if I'm not the oldest one there. Just turned 50!

Took a quick look on Open Table for Sunday night.
Craft (American, Gramercy), Craft Bar (American, Gramercy), Lupa (Italian, West Village), Modern Bar Room (French, Midtown West), Perilla (American, West Village), Perry St. (French, West Village), Recette (American, West Village), Union Sq Cafe (American/Italian).
Going under $200 for 2 depends on what you order for wine.
