re: lax2mia
Beg to differ....El Tropico is on NW 12th Street and 84th Ave in the Beacon Center......it's packed with legions of cubans everyday and it's tough to find a table during the lunch rush....doesn't suck......La Carreta is on 107th Ave at the International Mall.....just seconds from Dolphin Mall......And again....this place is packed with cubans everyday.......Very decent place for good cuban food.......
There are places........

La Carreta is close, El Tropico is a bit further. Both are OK. If I were to travel out of the Dolphin Mall area I'd go to Casa Lario's on Flagler before either one of these.

re: Jenaclaree
Love Versailles....one of my favorites......Casa Larios is also good......But you did say 'Dolphin Mall' area.....and La Carreta and El Tropico (which is no more than 5 minutes from LC) are solid.........and a little better than 'not really'.....lol!

re: Jenaclaree
Don't blame you one bit! Versailles is the "mother church" of cuban food here in South Florida. I'm a gringo but I think I know pretty good cuban food when i eat it. And when I see cuban restaurants like La Carretta and El Tropico absolutely LOADED with cubans on a daily basis......it has to at least be 'pretty good'.......
Buen Provecho!
