Blind Lady Ale House misadventure
So, we've been pretty happy with Blind Lady Ale House. While they don't have my favourite style of pizza crust, their toppings are really top notch. Fabulous cheeses, meats and fresh herbs, it's been my experience that Blind Lady has the best pizza in town.
So tonight, we're there with another family, and we want to start with the charcuterie plate. They're out. Not surprising, of course, the charcuterie plate is crazy good. Instead, we order the shrimp/clam boil. Gah. This turns out to be overcooked shrimp and clams boiled in Cambell's veggie soup. It's simply inedible, we send it back largely uneaten (really, this is hospital cafeteria fare). Then we order the cheese plate for $15. Well, they ought to call it the stale bread and arugula plate. There are 3 cheeses on the plate, but they are *tiny* morsels that are nearly invisible. Nice cheese, but ripoff. At this point, we're pretty cranky. The only thing that's gone well is the beer. Blind Lady does serve excellent beer.
Well, finally our pizza arrives. The 4 cheese is always lovely, as is the chorizo pizza. The bacon-and-egg is a new one for us. It's a dream. Pure, amazing goodness. Soft egg yolk on top. And the bacon is all kinds of tasty.
Blind Lady, we'll be back. But we won't be ordering any appetizers if you are out of charcuterie plate. And I may never try another pizza after that bacon-and-egg amazingness. Really, really yummy. Thanks.

The bacon and egg pizza is amazing! Be sure to stop in on a Wednesday evening when they have farmers' market specials, culled from the Adams Ave Market- I had some braised greens a few weeks ago that were pretty much the Best. Thing. Ever, and some squash blossoms with Spanish chorizo that pretty much blew my mind.
