Blue Bell Diner Closing

We went to Andy's Diner tonight and talked to the general manager, who works Wednesdays at Blue Bell Diner. (Her aunt and uncle own both places.) She says they are going to close BBD soon, to focus on Andy's. I guess business is much better in Conshococken, there was a steady line of folks coming in!

  1. No great loss, we don't even think about BB diner even though we live nearby. We had an okay breakfast there once and a dinner that was so bad, we never went back.

to each their own, eh... we have always enjoyed our meals there, but we stick with breakfasts and burgers. and there's something i love about the crab cakes. they aren't "great" crabcakes like I've had other places, but I could eat them every day. :)

we haven't been back tho since they opened Andy's because we love having the salad bar and soup with our meal.

I'm with Ritter and think this is not a big loss to the area at all. I literally live within 2 minutes of there and wouldn't even consider going there. I gave it a shot and the food and service was lousy.

The shame is that it would be a great location for a good diner.

BTW, juju, it's funny you mention their crabcakes. I once saw a commerical for them and when they mentioned their own crabcakes there was a graphic at the bottom of the screen that said "made with REAL crab".

My doc is in BB, so every time I have to go to him for fasting bloodwork, I hit the BB Diner for a big breakfast afterward. It used to be pretty good, but I noticed the last time I went, it had gone way downhill. Wasn't there an ownership change sometime recently?

you're right Bravo, there was an ownership change. when they opened andy's they sold the business. however the new owner ran it for a few weeks then skipped with the money. So Andy and Angie took it over again. it's just not worth keeping open at this point, since Andy's is doing so well.

that is funny mitchh! they've had some problems with servers, but we have our favorites... most of whom are at Andy's now, lol.
