DH and I will be traveling to Tahlequah in a few weeks and would like some recommendations for local restos. On past trips we have been underwhelmed with the food choices. We'd be interested in good BBQ, Southern, Mexican or Tex-Mex, healthy fare, good b'fasts, and at a "splurge" restaurant (if there are any in town, that is). Please save us from repeat visits to Chili's!! Thanks for your suggestions.

The closest splurge restaurant to Tahlequah is The Canebrake over by Ft Gibson Lake before you get to Wagoner. Otherwise, it is a small town and it is what it is from my experience. According to Google Maps it is about a 22 mile drive from Tahlequah to The Canebrake. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&...

Thanks! I was hoping for some good eats a little closer to town, if possible. Anybody have Tahlequah recs? Anything at all?
