Ferry to Port Jefferson
Any lunch recommendations for kid-friendly restaurants within walking distance of the ferry? A non-divey pub that serves a decent grilled cheese and fries would be ideal.

In PJ - there was a place last year right at the dock that was pretty good; park in line and walk. and across the street there were a couple.
In B'port - There is absolutely nothing within walking distance and there is a small counter in the waiting area, but nothing more than a premade wrapped sandwich.

Not pubs, but try Toast Coffee House and Pasta Pasta.

I haven't eaten at Toast, but it's consistently well reviewed. I know Pasta Pasta very well, and it's a nice atmosphere and very good food.

You might want to try Gourmet Burger Bistro, located in what looks like an alleyway. Very good fries.

I don't recall one right there, but I moved away a few years ago. There was Billie's Saloon on Main, not far from Pasta Pasta. For cheap, very wholesome and delicious, there's Salsa Salsa, too, on Main. Very casual, more counters, not tables.

The pub was maybe one door up from the east corner across the street from the ferry, I stopped in after visiting someone at the hospital because it was St Patricks Day and it was great. This was about 3 years ago though, but if they're gone there must be another similar place there now.
We tried Salsa Salsa once but it was too "California" for us. I know lots of people that rave about it though. If I was going that far up, I'd go to the Pie for some pizza and salad. Wish I lived closer to them.
