Toronto Chinatown on a Monday
I'll be in town on Monday with a group of about 10 looking for lunch in Chinatown. There will be children and a vegetarian or two. With the general consensus seeming to agree the best stuff is in the suburbs, where can we go for a decent lunch in the city of either Cantonese or Szechuan style cooking that is family friendly with a wide variety of stuff. Dim sum or Vietnamese recs are welcome also. Looking for something that will satisfy folks who have spent several years living all around Asia. Thank you.

Check out this thread for Chinatown (Spadina) suggestions. In the downtown, you could also search info for Lai Wah Heen, Dynasty on Bloor, and perhaps Pearl at Queen Quay.

re: T Long
Thank you T Long. That linked thread is definitely useful. Later in the week we are also looking for Japanese in general, ramen and any place that has a larger selection of veggie sushi. Not looking for high end type places and bonus points for a place my wife can practice her developing Japanese language skills.

re: tonyg
If you're looking for Japanese-owned places so she can practice:
- Guu (Izakaya, dinner only, boisterous, to say the least)
- Manpuku (Udon, cheap, lunch and dinner)
- Ematei (never been, dunno, but I think it's Japanese-owned)
- Konnichiwa (haven't been in a while, but should have Ramen)Don't know about the veggie-sushi status on any of these - you'll have to research that or someone else will have to comment.
There are probably more, but this is what comes to mind.
