Dinner for a big group - near Eglinton/Don Mills

One of my colleagues is retiring after 35 years and I wanted to plan a dinner for 15 people to celebrate. Our office is at Eglinton/Warden so I'm looking for something in the area. I was considering Shops of Don Mills - Joey or Glow. Does anyone have any feedback on those places or any other suggestions?

  1. Glow is universally panned on these boards for small portions of bland food, and the menus are pretty unimpressive to the casual observer. Joey should be fine. There is also Jack Astor's and Linda (upscale Thai) in that plaza.

There is a plaza just south at Green Belt Drive that has a Mongolian Grill and a Congee Star. The latter is cheap and cheerful, I've been told that the former is decent too. There is an Italian place there as well called Sorrento's but I can't comment on the food or service.

Have been to Sorrento's. It has good, honest food. Enjoyed the pasta and pizzas there. But it does not look like a special occasion spot. There is also Anthony's which is at Don Mills and Lawrence.

We ended up at Joey's and we had a great night! I've also been to Sorrento's for lunch and it's pretty decent - I would stick with the pizza there.
