You'd be CRAZY to Miss this in Scottsdale....! ?
So 'hounds...this harried New Yorker will be in Scottsdale for a few days to catch up on some reading and float in a hopefully refreshing pool. Haven't been there in about 10 years and am wondering if there is anything on the chow radar that can NOT be missed.
We have a car so we do not mind driving a bit. We are open to anything- tiny holes in the the walls (our faves), fancy-shmancy Big Name spots, etc.
Many Thanks in Advance and All Things Delish,
lisa

Well, NOCA is good, but it is also in Phoenix and can be a pretty big haul for the OP depending on where they are staying.
Zenfoodist-considering how sprawling the area is, let us know where you will be staying, and how far you're willing to travel. Any particular type of food you're looking for, or that is off limits?

Locals, I looked it up: OP is in north Scottsdale, Hayden just south of the 101. How long you are willing to drive is an important question here. There are numerous choices in downtown Scottsdale, a 20 minute drive to the south. Favorites of mine include FnB and Posh. FnB is very much the darling of the chowhounds these days. A good number of local restaurateurs pop in for late-night (10 pm-midnight) dinner on Friday and Saturday.
One that you have not too far from you that doesn't get much press on here is Greasewood Flat. It's a divey bar that serves up some authentic Southwestern grub... green chile cheeseburgers. The green chile cheeseburger is technically a New Mexico specialty, but the only other place you'll find them is around here. You owe it to yourself to have one while you're in this part of the country. Get there before sunset, order yourself a burger, grab a beer or two, and go sit at the picnic tables outside while the sky and mountains turn all kinds of beautiful colors. They do also have live music from 7-11 Friday through Sunday.

I looked up the location, too, but, I'm not familiar with anything in the area that can not be missed. Mosaic is closed. When I lived closer to that area, I would go a few places, on occasion, but, nothing exceptional. Persian Room, Pars, In 'N Out, Fresh Mint. I am interested in Renegade Canteen, and I would probably check out Over Easy at the Ice Den, if I wasn't closer to the original location (see website for locations).
