19 Bella

Anyone care to share some comments about the new restaurant called 19 Bella near Skippack? The few reviews elsewhere are mixed? This in not in Philly; it's 10/15 minutes north of King of Prussia.

  1. I don't know how to add links, but there is already a thread on CH.

    1. We ate at 19 Bella last night for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, we have been fans of Chef Brown for some time, and here at his restaurant he is free to cook what he wants to cook. While the pace of the delivery of small plates was a little erratic (due probably too the fact that the restaurant was packed), the food was excellent. Among our favorites were the lamb chops; grilles asparagus with bernaise and topped with a fried duck egg; paella and the pasta carbonara prepared tableside.

      1. Very Good Food & Service! The ambiance is very quaint & “country-innish”;) BONUS: The Bread, Butter, & Jams are homemade; They Smoke their own Breakfast Meats and Roast their own Coffee ~ WOW!;) with French Press Coffee & Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice and YES it’s Freshly Squeezed!;)lol

NOTES: Reservations recommended b/c of its smaller size;) And yes they take Credit Cards.

        1. Based on the comments here it is obvious we should give it another try. We were there one time about a year ago well enough said.

We tried it twice during their first year and have never been back. We found the prices high for the quality of the food and did not enjoy eating in the tent during the cold weather.

          2. I've been twice but am not motivated to return. I was there shortly after they opened in 2010 and almost broke a tooth on the craquelins(sp?)in the salad. The next time, I was the guest of percyn (whatever happened to him?)in 2012. Somewhat better but I don't recall what I had. But the bread was excellent and they sell it over the counter. Overall memory: good but beyond my price point for what I got.
PS: And, yes, crazyspice, there is a thread somewhere else.
