recommended restaurants in midtown??

acecil Jul 29, 2010 03:04 PM

I'm going to be staying at the new Loews hotel in midtown for 5 days and am looking for dinner recommendations for places that are within walking distance (or maybe a cheap cab fare away). I like just about any kind of food, and atmosphere can be cheap and casual to more gourmet, but am not especially looking for very formal places.

    I'll suggest Ecco.

Ecco is on my list. How about Baroanda or Noon - are they withing walking distance?
Any Thai or other asian recommendations? Also, since it is Atlanta, some great southern soul food would be fun. Mary Mac's Tea Room looks close, but looks awfully overpriced for that type of food - is it that great or are there better options? I don't mind paying if the food is that good. I used to live in San Fransisco and am seriously missing good food!!

Yes, Baraonda and Noon are within walking distance....in San Fran you wouldn't think twice about it...Atlanta is less of a walking city unfortunately.
Baraonda is a good choice for one of your nights although Ecco is better (if you only want to do Italian once).
There is a recent post about restaurants close to the High Museum, which you are not far from. Tamarind, South City Kitchen...
I have not been to Noon.

Also there was this recent post...
