im looking to buy romanesco, squash or zuchini blossoms, ramps and samphires. does anyone know where i could find these items? thanks guys.
They had some squash blossoms at the Sunnyside Greenmarket last weekend (first stall on the corner, I think). You might also ask at groceries that cater to Mexicans, or even taquerias/trucks, since flor de calabaza is a staple in quesadillas.
Try Brooklyn Grange: http://brooklyngrangefarm.com/markets/I think I remember seeing squash blossoms last weekend.
I think it is late in the season for Ramps.
Agreed...ramps are available in the Spring. Have you tried the Queens County Farm on Little Neck Parkway in Glenn Oaks?
I haven't been this summer, but last summer you could usually get squash & zucchini blossoms at the Jackson Heights farmers' market, Sundays 8-3 on 34th ave between 77th and 78th streets.
