What's a restaurant with a good ambiance as well as menu? I like simple foods with spectacular ingredients. Any suggestions?

I suggest you try Montclair which is just south of Clifton. Montclair has a huge restaurant scene with some great choices. You may want to look at Baristanet.com for restaurants and reviews in the area. Bloomfield has an emerging restaurant scene as well.
