Speed's hot Dog closed?

I was just there and the place is closed. No vacation sign. No nothing. Anyone know what happened?

I was at Lord Jeff yesterday and Speed's was up & running. Didn't stop in though, was on a mission to check out Singh's down the street.

I was there the day before yesterday (Wed) and got a dog and a pastrami. I shared them with 2 friends. Just as good as ever,

Since you got a pastrami Wed, perhaps the other day he was in some courthouse fighting for the right to serve that pastrami, and won.

Was this your first time there this year? Because he did move to a different location within NewMarket square a little while ago. He's no longer at the triangle-shaped dirt parking lot; he's now near one of the vendors on the perimeter. I think it's (greek sounding family name beginning with a K) - brothers produce.

yeah but you can easily see the new spot from the old spot.

Yeah, I almost turned back halfway down that fetid, dumpster-juice-puddled street, when I didn't see the RV in its usual spot the first time. It's on the left instead of straight ahead, as you head down the street off of Southhampton.

I was there today (Thursday July 29, 2010 @12:30 PM) and I know exactly where it is cause I've been there a few times which is just around the corner of the Oasis food shack. The Speed's truck was parked there but locked up and not operating.

Website says new hours starting this week - closed Sunday and Monday - did you go Monday?

I didn't, my thought on posting the link was that the hours had changed. Maybe with this hot humid weather, he decided not to show, and so it makes it that much more of an adventure,. Hours have been pretty reliable so I'm surprised.

I just tried the link (it's 9:30PM on Thursday, July 29th) & it's working. I did notice that they have posted a contest to win a years supply of Speed dogs (52 dogs - & they give you 15 monthsto "claim" them) too! You can enter online, but it says you need to be present (on October 29th at noon) in order to win. Maybe they were just updating the website when you tried it. You could always call Greg (617-839-0102) to see if he's there before heading over.

What "place" are you referring to? Would you expect to see a sign planted in the parking lot where the Speed's wagon normally is parked?
