Babbo dining time

Never been to Babbo & we have a 5:30 reservation on a Monday night. Want to take in an 8:00pm Broadway show afterwards. Will we make it if we go with 1 app, 2 pastas, 1 main & 2 desserts? Don't want to feel rushed to make the curtain call. Figure if we out by 7:30 we should be fine. Thanks

  1. I would cancel that reservation and make one on a night you can enjoy your dinner. There's nothing I hate worse than rushing through lunch or dinner to get to a function on time. It's a pretty good ride from Babbo to Broadway shows. And you never know what traffic might be like.

Make another reservation for a reasonable dinner time like 7:30 and have a great time at Babbo. You might not go back for a while. You will be in for a treat though. Babbo is a lot of fun.

Don't rush yourself. Go to the show then have a late dinner at Marseille after the show. I assume your Broadway show is in the Theater District.

    1. While Littleman may have given sage advice, assuming you want to go I think timing will be fine. The service there seems amenable to either rushing through the meal or letting you linger (dependant on your preferences). I have had both experiences. I am assuming you are not going to ask the pastas to be brought as separate courses. also, you should tell your waiter up front about your time schedule.

By the way, I would probably give myself more than 30 min to get to the theater.

I'd definately go...tell them you need to move quickly and they will have you out of there...Babbo loves to turn those tables....maybe skip dessert

Thanks for the advice! Think I've made my decision based on the fact that we'd rather not feel rushed, we'll do the broadway show another night, can get theater tickets for any night which is not the case for a res at Babbo. We're in town for 3 nights, the highlight being this dinner, enjoying a meal at Babbo is more important.

      2. Babbo is wonderful, and it would be a shame to rush a meal there. Also, most Broadway theaters are "dark" on Mondays.

        1. Since you're changing your theatre plans, you might want to consider the Pasta Tasting menu at Babbo. They excel at pasta, and the pasta tasting is a great way to sample a lot of it. Have a great time!

You can also make your own pasta tasting menu. They will split any # of pastas and serve them in different courses. I made my own 5-course pasta tasting and it was phenomenal.
