Glenwood/Carbondale/Aspen area

Renting a house with the extended family (including 2 very young children). Looking for recs for both family-friendly dining in the Roaring Fork, but also for specialty food stores/farmers markets in the area, as we will be cooking many meals ourselves. Where is a good place to get fresh produce, meat/fish, good cheese, etc?

Welcome to carbondale! City Market is your only choice, so I'd recommend you stock up before you come here. Lots of great places to picnic. Check out the rodeo every thursday night. Fat Belly Burgers is downtown is good. 689 is good but high end. There is a food CoOp downtown which is pretty good and in Willits there is a Epicurious which has high end meat and small grocery selection /Kathy

I really like Vicco's Charcoalburger in Glenwood Springs. http://www.charcoalburger.com/

There's also a good farmers' mkt in Carbondale and two in Glenwood Springs. It would seem to make sense to shop at the nearest one.

Chowhound auto-added the link to thge g-l-e-n-w-o-o-d c-a-f-e, which has nothing at all to do w/ either of the town's farmer's markets.
