Need Christine Ferber's Green Apple Jelly recipe

Anyone out there with her book Mes Confitures willing to paraphrase for me? My neighbors have a great apple tree that is dropping green apples. Many thanks!

    Here is what she says to do...

    3.5 lb green apples
    4 2/3 c. sugar
    6 1/3 c c water
    juice of one small lemon

    Remove stem and quarter apples, put them in a pan with the water, simmer for 30 minutes on low heat. Strain in a chinois sleeve, and then aa cheesecloth. Pour 4 1/4 c. juice in a pan with the lemon juice and sugar, bring to a boil and skim, cooking on high heat for 5-10 minutes. Check the set. Pour in to jelly jars and seal.

    Ferber's recipes are notoriously difficult to get good reults with....just do this instead:
