Is it possible? A $70 per head restaurant/caterer for a wedding?

  • 8

Help! We are looking for a venue (preferably with a view/garden) for only 1-3k for a wedding party of less than 100.

...or...any recommendations for caterers that would be about $70 per head?

Long Island or around the Hudson Valley.

A new restaurant has just opened on the Hudson River in Peekskill, called The Cove. It's on the site of the former Crystal Bay Seafood, lovely setting and restaurant. I know nothing about the food but the photos on Liz Johnson's "Small Bites" blog on lohud.com looked promising. They're new, why not give them a call? They might very well be able to fit into your budget.

Good call... someone on this board needs to take one for the team and check this place out! :) If the food is half as good as that view............ And it looks positively gorgeous inside. But Liz Johnson's post says that events will be in a "separate" building so who knows if that's as nice.

Are they open for lunch? Want to check it out with me?

I do think they do lunch based on one of the photos in the post, and sure, I'd be up for checking it out next week or the week after. Maybe we should put up a post to see if anyone else wants to join? I'll put my email on my profile page.

I'd love that. I'm booked for the next two weeks, then I have middays free most days (I usually work nights and weekends, but have a rare daytime gig right now).

    2. I got married 3 years ago at the Swan Club in Roslyn and I think they were pretty close to that. Maybe $78 per head? I got married on a Saturday night so other days may be cheaper. I loved it - they did a great job. Beautiful for pictures too - fantastic gardens.
