Bottle of Champagne and good liquor store nearby Gramercy Park?

Any recomendations for a really great medium to full-bodied, orangey pink colored, light and fruity, aromatic with fine spritzy bubbles in the $85 range that can be picked up locally in the GP area?

We're staying at the GPH and according to the Montreal Chow board, it's a lot cheaper and better value (selection-wise) to pick up a bottle in NY...

Try the store on First Ave. between 22nd. and 23rd. streets. I believe that they have a big selection of what you're looking for. There's also Union Square Wine on Fourth Ave. and 13th. street. Go there on Friday or Saturday and you can stop at the Union Square Farmers' Market and pick up some delicious local strawberries to have with your champagne or have them just out of the basket. the best wine shops in the area are italian wine merchants on 17th between park and irving and moore brothers on 20th between park and broadway. moore brothers has great wine from small french producers at very fair prices.

There are 3 liqour stores on 3rd between 20th and 28th you can try.

I can't recommend a specific champagne, but I generally like Bottle Rocket at 5 West 19th Street between 5th and 6th, which isn't too far away.
