Blue Bell Inn

I was chatting with a friend the other day and she said she heard the Blue Bell Inn was closing. Has anyone on here heard anything along those lines?

  1. I just called the restaurant and I was told it was just a rumor.
I must admit I am not convinced that it is "a rumor" by the conversation I had with the person who answered the phone.

Interesting. Anything else you can share?

The person who answered the phone was young- sounded like a teenager ~18 or so.
Nothing specific other than she probably should not be answering that type of question- she did not seem like she knew how to field calls, so I was not convinced.
Why don't you call and let us know what you think.....

I have a couple of sources I will touch base with tomorrow. I will let you know what I find out.

    2. we drove by last evening, just after I read your post and there appeared to be a decent # of cars in the lot... dunno! will look forward to hearing from crazyspice later. :)

I have not gotten an affirmative from the folks I spoke with. In fact they seemed surprised by my question.

perhaps your friend heard that the blue bell diner is closing? because we heard that this evening from the owner's niece.

Did she mention the date that the restaurant is expected to close?

            1. re: Displaced California Foodie

              no, she just said soon.

Perhaps you are right juju. I will let her know about the BB Diner.

      2. I know this is an old thread, but I have some coworkers who still insist the Blue Bell Inn is closed.

I took my mom there tonight for her 82nd birthday. It is still alive & kicking. The bar area was packed (as in, you could not possibly get another body in there). I assume it was a local business having a holiday event.

The dining room was not packed, but it was fairly crowded. Funny thing is, I think I brought the median age of diners down at least 10 years. And, as I said, it was mom's 82nd, so I'm no kid.

Also, passed the Blue Bell Diner on the way home, and it too was open. Has it reopened under new ownership?

yes, the blue bell diner is under new ownership, as of a month or two ago, I believe.
