Who has the best fried clams in san diego?

My boyfriend is from Boston, and since summer is somewhat here, hes dying to eat some friend clams. Anyone have any recomendations as to where we should go?

Haven't had them, but if you're going to try them at the Studio Diner you might as well get a discount. Use the discount code "plate" thru 7/31/10 to get $25 for about 2 bucks. http://www.restaurant.com/microsite.a...

I miss steamers. Not the measly overpriced dozen you can get around here. I'd want a sack like an East Coast dive or clambake!

+1 on Clam Box --- sweet big bellies straight from the mud flats, perfect crumb coating, oil changed twice a day. However, in SD I agree on Studio --- the only place I know of to get New England style whole bellies here.

You can order them from HARDSHELL LOBSTER off of Mission Gorge. WE did and they were good.

Damn, you had to go there with the steamers, didn't you? Now not only am I missing summer in general, now I am specifically missing a bucket of steamers and a cold Rolling Rock while sitting at my favorite raw bar in Cape May, NJ. Bah!

Damn and you had to go there with the Rolling Rock. Throw in a little saltwater taffy and the flashback is complete.

Been here MANY years and have NEVER seen fried clams on a menu in San Diego. I miss those fried clams from the coast of New Hampshire -- GREAT stuff. Hopefully someone has a local source that I'm unaware of.
