Food Items to Bring from NY to SW Florida
I recently bought a second home in NY and travel there frequently by plane, but 4 to 5 times a year I drive up for a 2 to 3 week stay. On the drive up, I often fill my Suburban with wine to restock our wine cellar up there. I generally return with spices from Penzeys, random antiques I may find and assorted obscure cookbooks I find in my wanderings. For the return trip, I used to fill it up with Portuguese products from Newark, but now that Seabra has a grocery store in Coral Springs on the other coast, I have these products covered.
On another post I just learned about Setaro pasta and will be picking up plenty to bring home.
I got to thinking that there must be many other unique or wonderful products that are hard or impossible to find in SW Florida ( Fort Myers to be specific). By this I mean pantry items that are not available here - baking products, imported food items and anything else unique or diffferent , to return home with. I love to play with unexpected and fun foods and thought some CHers out there may have some ideas for me.
