Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Anyone been to Devi recently; feedback?

Since Chef Mathur left the kitchen, has anyone given Devi a shot... if so, could you please post about your experience? I realize this might not be the ideal time for an out-of-towner to visit the restaurant, but I've been dying to return for nearly a year and would really like to allocate one of our evenings/meals without setting my girlfriend who's never been up for potential disapointment. What's the verdict, chowhounders... who's been since Mathur split and what's the kicthen like?

    1. It's much too recent to have consistent reports. I would avoid for the timebeing.

        1. Went to Devi for lunch today.. very disappointing and expensive!! $40 for three courses. The cauliflower app tasted like General Tso's chicken, only more ketchup-y. The tandoori lamb chops were underspiced and not very meaty. Service was "meh". I was expecting far better, and the prices certainly promised it. It's been a few years since I last went to Tamarind, but that experience was FAR better. Not sure how they're doing now. Wish I had gone there or to Yuva.
