News Flash! Previously unknown burger declared "Best!"

According to the Sun-Sentinel's on-line poll, Gilbert's 17th Street Grille, on Cordova just off 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, has the best burger in South Florida. Second place went to Relish, in West Palm, and third went to Charm City, in Deerfield.

  1. Gilbert's has a great burger! I've been telling anyone who will listen to me about it for the last 6 months or so.

I'm glad they got some recognition for it.

IMO, Gilberts makes a good burger but far from great. I don't think they are anywhere close to as good as Charm City in Deerfield or even Beer and Burger Joint in Miami or any one of a number of other places.

My burger at Gilbert's was okay at best. While eating Gilbert's burger I was trying to figure out who would go there for a burger with five guys across the parking lot at half the price..

On a side note, I had a great first burger at Elevation Burger in Coral Springs. Very similar in style to Shake Shack but even better than the three I've enjoyed there thus far.

    2. I didn't know the Sun Sentinel covered West Palm. While Relish is definitely unique in it's offerings, I wouldn't say it's the best overall, even in just the Palm Beach area alone. And this place has only been open a short time, so I wonder how it received so many votes in the S-S.
