sour cherries at Grand Army Plaza greenmarket still?

Does anyone know if there were any sour cherries at this market last Saturday, or if there are expected to be some this weekend? Or are they all finished for the season? Thanks.

My husband the sour cherry fiend was told (at Union Square) that they were finished a week ago Friday. It seems that they all came in at the same time this year because of the heat. There are several varieties grown that mature at different times under normal circumstances, so the season often lasts into August.

at least in the past there was a vendor at Union Sq that sold frozen sour cherries. If you go there you might want to ask.

Do you remember which one by any chance? (We have a freezerfull of the home-pitted variety already).

its been too many years since I was up there - I think they were at the NW corner along 17th St. They have a wide variety of apples in season and usually raspberries as well. From somewhere up the Hudson.

Good to know in any case. Would be nice if markets sold them here, they have them in the frozen fruit section in the Hy-Vee market we frequent when we visit family in IA so they are packed for retail sale and distributed (WA origin).
