Bangor dinners and Breakfast, Portsmouth dinner and breakfast
We'll be in Bagor for a week, in a cottage on Fields Pond and then a one night stop in Portsmouth on the way home to NJ (missing the Sunday traffic!). Would love some of your recommendations for a few nice dinners and breakfasts. We'll ignore Asian for the trip but all other ethnic possibilities are great-plus a great seafood night and one "birthday dinner" suggestion would be very helpful!! Thank you!

Bahaar Pakistani at the intersection of Hammond, Central and Main Streets in downtown Bangor. Go on Friday night. You'll be glad you did.
Fiddlehead on Hammond Street is wonderful fresh, local, creative food, good for birthdays. Luna on Park Street is solid gastropubby fare. Great wine list.
Seafood? Go to McLaughlin's, on Main Street, on your way to Hampden.
If you're in the Fields Pond area, it might be worth it to make the extra 30-40 minute trip and go to either Cleonice in Ellsworth or Table in Blue Hill. Both excellent.-----
