Gertrude's

I made lunch reservations for next Thursday at Gertrude's. Is this a good choice?

Thanks

What's your goal? If you want to eat pleasant food in a soothing setting surrounded by world class art, you won't do better than Gertrude's. (If the heat wave eases, you might even want to eat outside under the awnings.)

        Skip the crab cake.

It certainly isn't a bad choice, but I've never been wowed by Gertrude's. Lots of people love it and if you're just looking for a good, dependable lunch, I'm sure it fits the bill.

Thanks very much. Can you suggest an alternative in Charles Village?

Not nearly as upscale as Gertude's, but Carma's Cafe makes good salads and sandwiches. Donna's is also a decent choice.
