Has no one in Westerly told you about Golden Chopsticks yet ?!? 8-O It's been a year or two for me (I'm in Providence), but I remember my visits there as some of the best Chinese I have had in New England, and very good menu-order dim sum as well. Enjoy!
Golden Chopsticks
62 Franklin Street, Westerly - (401) 348-6666
PS: If Golden Chopsticks wasn't your thing, drive 45 minutes north to the Providence area for Mumu on Atwells or Red Ginger in Johnston, RI.

Welcome. I'm also relatively new to the area. Moved up from Greenwich CT in December but have been coming to the area for many years.
I agree that Golden Chopstix is good. Don't go by the appearance it's in a run down strip mall and is not very inviting looking but the food is pretty good. I hear they have very good Dim Sum but that's not really my thing.
It's certainly not upscale Chinese or Chinatown style but it's decent and the service is good.

They have great dim sum (you order off the menu - it's not like the Chinatown cart variety). I was there last week and ordered a delicious tofu & chinese black mushroom/vegetable dish. My friend had sesame chicken and enjoyed hers. Typical Americanized drink menu (mai tai, scorpion bowl, etc.) Service is great as well - very friendly and quick.

Totally agree that Golden Chopstix is terrific, and I am a full-time NYC resident who frequents the Chinatowns in both Flushing and Manhattan. Don't be scared off by the location or decor. I've been spending my weekends and any other free time in Westerly for the past 10 years, and would have never considered trying Golden Chopstix if it wasn't for this board. We checked it out about 3-4 years ago, and have been regulars ever since. Their food is Cantonese style, so it doesn't tend to be spicy, but if you look through their specials and ask for recommendations, it can get quite adventurous. They do wonderful things with tofu, fish, seafood, and unusual (for Westerly, at least) vegetables such as lotus root, snow pea tips (my favorite), etc. I am a vegetarian who eats fish and seafood (don't ask), and they will always customize menu items for me. One of their secrets is that they own the Asian grocery store in the same plaza, and people seem to travel a good distance to shop there, so they are able to source all sorts of goodies. One more thing - if like fish, an you ever see a special on their menu of fresh striped bass, steamed with ginger and garlic, make sure and give it a try.
