Buying Floris Apple Ale in bottles in LA?
Hi everyone,
I recently got on a Belgian kick, and am in love with the Floris Apple Ale I tasted at Wurstkuche and the La Chouffe I tried at City Sip. I would love to keep these in my fridge, but so far have only had luck finding La Chouffe (at Cap n Cork). Does anyone know where I can buy bottles of Floris Apple Ale in Los Angeles?
thank you!!
Sandra

Try calling Vendome in Toluca Lake.

It is quite good as I ordered it for my wife at Wurstkuche and sampled it. Much easier to find (BevMo) and along the same line is Lindemans Pomme Apple.

Sandra. I just tried the Floris Apple Ale at Wurstkuche yesterday for the first time. They were out of the Fruli Strawberry Beer and suggested the Floris. I am in love with it. Did a search to see where to buy it and found your post here.
I was wondering, do they carry Floris at the Beverage Wherehouse all the time? Or have you found it anywhere else? Any info would be great. Thanks. ~ Kelly

What a coincidence you ask, I just bought some from Total WIne. I too remember getting this at Wurstkuche awhile back. They have it in a 4 pack for about $18 and you can even buy it in individual bottles for about $4-$4.50 a piece in the individual beer bottle aisle.
The one I went to is in Tustin, but there is one in Brea and Northridge, this store is awesome, btw, much better in variety than BevMo by far:

For a fruity beer, you might like Lindeman's Framboise - rasberry belgian beer. Also, Duchesse De Bourgogne is a winey, fruity type beer about the same price of the Floris Apple Ale.

So many of us have spouted these words and gone down this road - and what a great journey it is. As I'm sure you've already found, Belgium is to beer what the sum of major wine countries are to wine, and then some. You might also find some of the fermented ciders to be interesting. Sometimes they will be found side-by-side with the lambics and other fruit-laced brews, and sometimes they will be in a section all to their own. Beverage Warehouse and the bigger Whole Foods seem to have a good selection of these, but can vary depending on the time of the year.
The one company that I constantly get drawn to is Wandering Aengus up in Oregon. They're relatively local, have a very serious focus on their products, and just seem to be good folks.

Don't know if you've ever caught the series, "Three Sheets," but the pilot episode was on Belgium. The host does give Floris products (and just about everything else) a whirl. Some "tricks of the bartender's trade" are also shown (flaming apple schnapps + apple brews = :)).
