Prices for dinner/lunch at Nishiki or Giro Giro Hitoshina in Kyoto?

I'm thinking of going to either Giro Giro Hitoshina or Nishiki in Kyoto--preferably for lunch, if it's more affordable. Unfortunately, I can't read the Japanese web sites:

and the English travel web sites I've looked at give wildly conflicting reports of the prices. Can anyone tell me the price range for lunch and dinner at each? Also, any advice on choosing between the two? Thanks!

We had a great meal at Giro Giro in May, for the price it really can't be beat. Make sure you sit at the counter...more fun to watch the punk chefs make everything than to be in the dining room.

I just went to Kyoto for a few days and ate at both Giro Giro and Nishiki. Both were great, considering the price. Would definitely recommend both to others. In my opinion Nishiki was much better, but it was also about double the price.

giro giro isn't open for lunch, so that that should make your selection process easier. lunch at nishiki costs ¥5,000 and dinner is from ¥6,000. they are closed on tuesdays.
while giro giro is not the haute cuisine that one expects from kaiseki ryori, it is a fun night out - and at ¥3,990 per person you can't really go wrong.
