  1. What would you consider to be that area? There's really nothing in the immediate environs of Ontario Place, since it's basically surrounded by parkland and the Ex grounds.

Just to the North is Parkdale and the West Queen West strip, and to the Northeast are Liberty Village, the King West restaurant strip and the Annex, with lots of restaurant choices in both places, but none of them are walking distance close to Ontario Place.

What kind of restaurants are you looking for?

I was hoping there was something descent close to the grounds.
      thanks.

there is nothing right there. approx 20 mins walk to the cloest food.

if you're willing to walk that distance let us know what kind of food and price point you're looking for.

We made that mistake a few weeks for the Jethro Tull concern. One used to be able to at least visit a pub at Ontario Place for some grub. Sadly, the only items we could find were Pizza Pizza with the texture and flavour of cardboard or Fried Chicken that was so salty as to be almost inedible. There is nothing within close walking distance. About the only option nearby you could find is Liberty Village... a bit of a hike.

      2. I would go somewhere close to the Bathurst streetcar, eg The Wheat Sheaf and then take the streetcar to Ex grounds and walk the rest of the way. This has worked for me many times.

Do people actually eat at the Wheat Sheaf? I tend to think of it as drinks only location.

I've eaten at the Wheat Sheaf before going to concerts at the Amphitheatre. Food is safe and predictable. It's sure as hell not going to warrant any stars in the Michelin Guide, but definitely a cut above anything else near the Ex Grounds.

Since the selection for food and drinks pre-concerts at the Molson Amphitheatre has always been slim. We`ve always made the Wheat Sheaf our traditional drinking hole before concerts for several years now. Once you get to the venue you can later pay for their largest size $11 beer in a plastic cup that is a rip off. LOL

          2. School and take a cab thru the Dufferin Gate.

I'd second the School reco as it is on the edge of LV and you could get away without cabbing. Probably a 15-20 minute walk if you're up for it.

If you like west indian food Island Foods is at King and Dufferin.

              WON
