Crab Boil???

Looking for a crab boil for this weekend. Any suggestions?

I am pretty sure Mara's Homemade makes steamed crabs any day of the week during the crab season. I've had a dozen at City Crab too. Both excellent Maryland style "steamed" crabs.

Call ahead to make sure they have them.

If you're looking for Maryland style, they should be steamed, never boiled.

Bleeker street has a few Fish "http://gonyc.about.com/cs/toursbr/a/bleecker_fish.htm", Back fourty(42$), The Hideaway(everyday @ $62), City crab(1/2 lobster/crab) has a few from time to time. There was a place in queens called pearl that had an you can eat snow/dungeness crab boil for $29.

Choptank also has one but I have never been there.

Thanks Silverjay! I am a frequent NYC visitor but read the Chowhound Manhattan board from my
lil ole home in Maryland. I looked at the title of this thread and thought, what the hay is a boiled crab? ;-)

Mara's, Hideaway, City Crab, Clemente's Maryland Crabhouse in Sheepshead Bay (Brooklyn). Mermaid Inn used to, I'd call to ask if they're bringing it back. Choptank has a crab special too, dunno if it's Maryland style or not, their menu doesn't say.

I had a great experience a few weeks ago, but it required a trip to Brooklyn. Clemente's Maryland Crab house. The crabs were how I remembered them during all my summers spent on the Maryland shore growing up.

The only crab boils I know of are at Back Forty and Mara's Homemade but I don't think either take place on weekends. Back Forty does theirs on Tuesdays and I think Mara's does theirs on Mondays. You might want to call to confirm.
