Another Vancouver recommendation

Hi! I know there is a thousand posts already on Vancouver restaurants but just want a few recommendations if possible.

We are staying in west end on harwood street. Probably would like to go somewhere close, especially our first night.(only there for 3 nights total). We like bistro kinds of places, nothing too fancy that requires my husband to dress up too much. We enjoy live music and wine. I enjoy seafood but he usually doesn't, but eats fish and chips and halibut.

Have looked at going to Adesso, raincity cafe, le bassiere, le quierca,(although not sure if Kitsilano is too far away.) I don't think we'll go to Richmond but hubbie really likes Chinese food.I like sushi so have looked at bluewater cafe but maybe it's too fancy for us?

Of course plan on going to Granville island, Stanely Park etc. so anything in those areas would be good as well.

Also going to Tofino for 6 nights so if anybody has any recommendations for that area, it would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Another vote for La Brasserie - let us know what you think. A friend of mine is still talking about the pan-fried trout she had there last autumn.

Go Fish near Granville Island might be worth a stop - they have fish and chips for your hubby, and some more interesting items that you might like. They are closed on Mondays, and there can be a bit of a wait on sunny days, but it's a pretty location. I've heard that the Fish House at Stanley Park is very good.

Thanks for your feedback. Sam Salmon, your recommendations are great as I've never heard of either place.

Island girl: Thanks, La Brassiere will be a choice for sure.

Reading your first two paragraphs my first thought was La Brasserie. Highly recommend.

Head down to Denman Street-Acacia for a charming cafe/light dinner place then across the street to Dulcinea for Chocolate and music.
