Burlington Question

I'm very excited to make my first trip to Burlington, VT this weekend and was hoping to get some local perspective on my itinerary. One night i'm planning on making the "trek" out to Hen of the Wood, but i'm still a little torn on what to do my first night. Right now I have a reservation for Trattoria Delia, but i'm starting to wonder if two big, formal dinners is ideal or if I should try to get something different in. Especially after a long drive (5 hours). The idea of a more casual place (but still great food) with maybe some live music would be great, and Bluebird Tavern seemed to fill that, but it has kind of gotten slammed on this board. If i'm going in aware of the small plates, is it going to be a good option? Or should I try a different place and try to head over to the radio bean or something else afterwards.

Love to hear anyone's thoughts! Thanks.

  1. Both nice places, if you think you might be "Fooded Out", and a nice fresh veg, Asian
dinner would be of interest; believe it or not....." A Single Peeble" on Bank St. Burlington is a superior evening of dining.

    1. Bluebird Tavern has become my "go to" place in the last few months. I urge you to try it. If you are cool with the small plates concept (some of them are not so small), I think you will have a good time. The people are very friendly, the kitchen is very talented, the mixed drinks creative, and the wine list interesting.
