Pre theatre dinner near 49th and Broadway

Looking for an interesting dinner we won't find in California. Not on an expense acct, Want value not glitz. Any cuisine ok. Prefer walk to theater.
Reccomendations please.

Marseille (44th & 9th) is Southern French as the name suggests. Not your typical french menu. Look on menupages.com for their menu and those of other suggested restaurants. Across the street is Turkish Cuisine - a cute Turkish place with a somewhat standard menu, but very enjoyable food. Both are very reasonably priced. We've done well there on 2 separate occasions. If you get a lot of Turkish in CA you may not want to bother.

cafe edison, in the edison hotel on 47th street is not like anything in california, totally ny and totally cheap. Matzoh ball soup, staffed cabbage, kasha, etc. Maybe Delta Grill for southern food?
