Puerto Rico Dining

Can I get some great recommendations for restaurants outside of the San Juan area for dinner. My husband and I would like to drive around the Island and eat where the locals go. Both casual and upscale would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Head to Luquillo Beach. We went there on our way to El Yunque. This place is famous for the beach and food kiosks selling everything. Google it and see what kiosks are hot for eats right now. It's a must do in PR.

Thank you phelana...I totally agree, last year we ate at the kiosk with Peruvian food, very very good. This year we definitely want to try the Hamburger Kiosk.

Try La Parrilla (kiosk #2) for really good puerto rican food and The Burger Shack (i think its #12) is really good too.

For upscale try Pikayo in Condado.

If you are planning on driving around the island you might want to go to Guavate in Cayey and eat Lechon (whole roasted pork), the place is filled with different Lechon vendors. This is REAL puerto rican food!
