Rehoboth Beach: Best Value for the Bucks

consaacs Jul 20, 2010 11:16 PM

I am interested in reading your opinions on the topic of restaurants that offer the best value in near Rehoboth Beach and Lewes
Anyone interested in giving opinions on their top restaurant in any categories of their choosing?

My suggestion is: Just make up a category and give a response. The only rule is, one restaurant for each category. Highbrow, lowbrow, in-between, let's read it.

I picked up fish tacos today from El Dorado. I find it difficult to believe a fish taco could be any better than these. Two dinners were $15.00. The dinner consists of two tacos, rice and beans and all the freshly made condiments I wanted. They have an avocado-cilantro condiment that I could drink straight out of a glass. I guess El Dorado is low-brow. El Dorado
is a storefront where you order at the counter and take a seat and wait for them to bring your food to you. Their shrimp tacos are also so so good.
I really don't dine at many high-brow places but the ones I have tried never impress me as high value. We enjoy Baywood but usually feel a little robbed afterwards, still we go back.

Consaacs! I am breaking your rule about only one restaurant in each category. I think this is another lowbrow but I have to mention the $1.50 muffins at The Bake Shop on Second Street in Lewes.

I would agree with Sensuous that El Dorado is a great find. My low brow submission would be "Po' Boys Creole & Fresh Catch". Great cajun food with beignets for Sunday brunch. Off the beaten path in nearby Milton.

I used to love the Nic-A-Bolis at www.nicolapizza.com

For middle-high brow take a look at Cafe Azafran in Lewes. The "Small Plates" are actually very generous, so you don't need to order as much as you think. Plus, the bread is fantastic.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'm going to try the fish tacos at El Dorado for sure. And I'm glad to read there is another new place in Milton worth checking out. Thanks for the suggestion,

Nicola's is a favorite of a lot of folks, for sure.

We dined at Cafe Azafran last winter, and I don't think we made the best choices. Thanks for the suggestion to go back and try the small plates.

            Keep the suggestions coming.
