ONE Night in Boston- Where to go??

Someplace casual, someplace wonderful, someplace with local fresh food. Price not an issue but would like a "can't miss" meal for our one night in Boston. Where should we go. Price is not an issue! Thanks

Although we are going to Coppa when we visit, I don't think you should. All the casual Batali places serve the same, if not better (menu looking) dishes. We will be heading also to Neptune Oyster; not sure something like that is in NYC. I have seen Oyster Bars, but that seems unique.

I love LOVE Neptune Oyster. It is seriously delicious. The no reservations part is annoying, but I just get there early, give my name and number, and go grab a drink somewhere near by.

O Ya is better than Sushi by Gari, IMO, if that comparison helps.

Yep, O Ya is better than Sushi of Gari. It's very pricey, but it seems to be the de facto choice for a blowout meal in Boston. I'd probably skip Menton; you can get much better French food in NYC at that kind of price point. I'll also echo the Craigie suggestion.

If you're looking for something more casual (in price and atmosphere) and actually local, Neptune Oyster is great for fresh, New England-style seafood. IMO, it's much better than Pearl Oyster Bar, Mary's Fish Camp etc. in NYC. However, they don't take reservations.

coppa is good, I've never been to Italy so I can't really comment on the authenticity. But the food is exciting and the atmosphere is casual. I don't think I'd put it in the "can't miss" group if the "casual" request wasn't made.

I would recommend going to Henrietta's Table in Harvard Square. It has a nice casual atmosphere but the chef prepares local and season food perfectly. Also, it's in Harvard Square so you can look around there and maybe grab a drink at Russell House, a new hotspot in the square afterward.

Agreed, Henrietta's is OK but nothing special. For a one-night-only memorable meal in an informal atmosphere I'll throw my vote in for Craigie on Main.
