I wouldn't call this a "best 10" list and object to some choices, but in general a rather ok list with some very good choices.

Now all some CHer needs do is cross check these recommendations with the dozens upon dozens of places tossed up on the dozens of Rome posts in the last, oh, few days, and rank order the occurrences. I'm not at all sure someone won't. Forza!
