Nathan Phillips Square Tasty Thursdays: Worth it?

Is there anything worth going for? Desperate for a new lunch routine.

Definitely worth visiting and trying. Luv the pulled pork and steak lunches at the Fiesta Catering. They're served with potatato "pancakes", salad and rice. All that for $5 (that's grand total, no tax).

Susur Lee is involved and I suspect he'll have his traveling Asian slaw and Cheeseburger Spring Rolls that he was offering at Pride. If that is there it's makes it worth the trip for that alone. Will check it out and report back.

My wife and I were there last week, and you're right about Susur - while he wasn't there himself, his booth was selling both of the items you mention. We tried the slaw, and honestly, it was a bit too sweet for us, but still a good deal at $5 considering what it sells for in the restaurant.

Even if Susur wasn't there, I'd say that Tasty Thursdays is well worth checking out, although getting there early (i.e. by 11:45) is highly recommended - the line-ups can get brutal by noon.

Thanks for the confirmation. The slaw is the same one he sells in his restaurants. Honestly I prefer the cheeseburger spring rolls. Some of the best street food I've ever had.
